About Membership
We have some of the most affordable membership rates in the area, no daily minimums for checking out the airplane, and competitively priced hourly rates that are billed on Tach Time instead of Hobbs Time.
Our Club currently owns two airplanes, a 1997 Cessna 172R and a 1979 Cessna 182Q Skylane. Both planes are IFR certified.
Mitchell Flying Club operates as a Not-For-Profit, otherwise known as a 501c(7), corporation in Missouri. By law, members share use of the aircraft but do not own “shares” of corporate stock or any club assets (aircraft, etc.). Because our club members do not actually own the club or its assets, they enjoy the benefit of limited liability for other club members as well as no requirement to obtain renter’s insurance.
Our current rates are as follows:
- $500.00 membership initiation deposit.
- Monthly membership dues are $125.00 per month. Monthly dues covers fixed expense like Insurance, GPS Data base, Property taxes, hangar rent.
- Our hourly rate is billed on Tach time, not Hobbs time (approximately 10% savings).
- Cessna 172R hourly rate is $75
- Cessna 182Q hourly rate is $85
- Fuel is not included in the hourly rate. Members pay for their own fuel.
